Rejuran is the latest addition to our range of non-surgical skin treatments at The Layt Clinic. This treatment is designed to support the skin’s natural regeneration processes and may help improve skin texture and overall appearance over time.
Unlike traditional dermal volume replacement treatments, Rejuran is not based on hyaluronic acid. Instead, it uses polynucleotides (PN) – fragments of DNA derived from salmon, which closely resemble human DNA. These polynucleotides are biocompatible and work by stimulating your skin’s own collagen and elastin production, improving elasticity, hydration, and overall skin quality over time.

- Minimise the appearance of acne scars
- Improve elasticity and firmness
Am I a suitable candidate for Rejuran?
The Rejuran treatment uses polynucleotides, which are derived from salmon DNA, to improve the appearance of the skin over time. While it may sound a little unusual, the treatment is based on the influence that the molecules have on the skin’s structure, making the most out of the potential of natural remedies.
Rejuran is generally best suited to those who are looking to improve their skin’s condition on a deeper level, rather than simply targeting surface-level concerns. It may be considered by those who have had sun exposure over the years or have noticed that their skin has become thinner, more fragile, or less able to hold moisture. This treatment may suit individuals looking to address early signs of ageing or skin texture concerns without altering facial volume or shape.
At your first appointment at The Layt Clinic, we’ll discuss your skin history, any medications you are taking, and previous treatments you have had. A personalised assessment is always going to be the best way to work out whether Rejuran is right for you, especially if your skin tends to be sensitive or reactive.
What does the Rejuran procedure involve?
Rejuran is injected just beneath the surface of the skin using fine needles or a cannula. It encourages collagen production through biostimulation and helps support the natural repair process at a cellular level.
Each treatment takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes and is generally well-tolerated. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand for comfort.
How can I care for my skin after the treatment?
After the Rejuran treatment, your skin may feel a bit more sensitive than usual, particularly in the first couple of days. You might notice a bit of redness, swelling, or small bumps at the injection points, but this is normal and usually subsides quite quickly.
To help your skin heal, it’s best to avoid applying too many products to your skin. We typically recommend following a simple routine, using a gentle cleanser and moisturiser and avoiding active ingredients for at least the first few days after the treatment. It’s also important that you skip exfoliating while your skin is recovering.
You should also avoid heat-based treatments, including saunas, hot yoga, and other forms of facial therapy that involve heat or friction. It’s best to wait until your skin has fully recovered before having any other cosmetic treatments.
When the skin has started to settle, you should then ideally protect the area with a high-SPF sunscreen. After almost any cosmetic treatment, the skin can be more vulnerable to damage caused by UV rays, so protecting the area will help support the quality of your results.
What can I expect from the results of Rejuran?
Visible improvement may begin around two weeks post-treatment, with optimal results building gradually over three to six months. For best outcomes, a series of two to four treatments spaced a few weeks apart is recommended. One to two maintenance sessions are usually recommended per year to help support long-term results.
When it comes to the exact results you can expect, it will typically be based on factors like the condition of your skin and the number of treatment sessions you will have. As with any cosmetic procedure, a consultation with our experienced team is essential to determine if Rejuran is appropriate for your skin type and goals. We’ll be able to discuss the results you can expect in more detail during your consultation.

How much does Rejuran cost?
The cost of the Rejuran treatment can slightly vary from person to person, as we’ll need to consider the treatment area, the number of treatment sessions and other factors.
Depending on the results you would like to see, we often recommend having a series of several treatment sessions, each spaced out by a few weeks or months. Some people may also continue to have ongoing maintenance treatments after that, which can help to support the skin over time.
We will be able to discuss the details of your treatment costs during your consultation, but please get in touch with our team if you would like a general quote or more information on costs in the meantime.
Are there any possible risks of having the Rejuran treatment?
Almost any cosmetic skin treatment can come with some possible risks, but often, these are usually quite rare, minor and temporary. However, it’s always important to be fully informed ahead of time, so that you can make an informed decision as to whether or not to undergo the treatment. Having a clear understanding of the possible side effects can also help you manage your skin’s response after the treatment, as well as know what signs to look out for should any complications occur.
Straight after Rejuran, the most common minor and temporary side effects include swelling, redness, and small lumps at the injection sites. Each of these side effects will often subside within a day or two after the treatment, and they’re not usually a cause for concern. Bruising can also show around the treated area.
Less commonly, there’s a risk that you might react to the product, although allergic reactions to Rejuran aren’t common – since the polynucleotides are purified and processed to remove proteins, the risk of reaction is reduced – but it’s still something to discuss during your consultation, especially if you’ve had reactions to other cosmetic skin treatments in the past.
There’s also the general risks that come with many types of cosmetic skin treatments, including infection, prolonged redness, or uneven texture. These types of risks can be minimised by choosing a clinic with an experienced team, and carefully following any aftercare advice that you receive.
If you have recently had other skin treatments, such as laser, skin peels, or microneedling, you’ll need to wait until your skin has recovered before considering Rejuran. Combining too many procedures too close together can increase the risk of irritation and delay your skin’s healing.
If anything doesn’t feel quite right after your treatment, it’s always worth checking back in with our team to make sure that everything is healing as it should. Please feel free to contact us at any time after your treatment should you have any concerns or questions.
