Cosmetic Muscle Relaxant and Wrinkle Treatment
Widely known for the improvement in skin quality effects & addressing wrinkle concerns to the skin texture & lines, lasting from 3 months & longer when used regularly (3-6 monthly). Effective approaches with muscle relaxants can achieve skin quality in the area of treatment & improves & repairs skin quality & lines. Most popular combination treatment is the relaxation of the frown, forehead & crows feet in combination therapy.
Many people undervalue the ability of muscle relaxants to repair ageing changes which develop over time. Our loyal & regular clients of The Layt Clinic experience these effects with a unique styled treatment that looks & feels realistic. An excellent tool for repairing lines of communication in the forehead, brow, frown, crows feet, muscle relaxants are an effective treatment, taking 2-3 days to onset & up to 2 weeks for the full effects post treatment. Clients can resume daily routines & activities following muscle relaxant therapy.
Lower face focussed treatments to smooth chin dimpling & correct the down turn of the corner of the mouth & improve the texture & contour of the neck, can be successfully treated. The techniques are so versatile, they can even be used to achieve enhancement of the lip. Asymmetric smiles & gummy smiles can also benefit from muscle relaxant therapy by our specialist cosmetic clinicians. Facial slimming for clients who have widened lower facial appearance related to grinding of the teeth, can improve with the application of muscle relaxants, effecting an improved facial shape & overall facial attractiveness.
Muscle relaxant treatments also treat excessive sweating of the underarm and help clients manage excessive sweat discomfort for up to 6 months.
The right time to start muscle relaxant therapy is when the skin is starting to have appearance & sun damage changes. We note that a trend to treat & over treat young women has emerged in the industry & we do not recommend this approach to unnecessary treatments, which can cause younger women to diminish their dynamic warmth & can be ageing rather than improving attractiveness. Overdosing of product can reduce the ability of the treatment to enhance attractiveness & we do not recommend product to be used this way.
Muscle relaxant therapy may not resolve all skin ailments & in many cases with severe ageing & sundamage, referral to our multi disciplinary team for laser therapy, surgery & home medical grade skin care will be recommended to achieve the results requested by our clients. At The Layt Clinic, we take an active approach to skin quality & we recommend skin care, sun protection, IPL, Laser, Skin Needling, & PRP to achieve results.
Over time our skin reacts to time and climatic elements, particularly the sun. Years of muscle actions like frowning and squinting cause us to develop frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet around the eyes. These lines can give us an unwanted tired or angry appearance. As the skin loses its resilience over time, we also develop lines in the lower face particularly around the mouth, on the cheeks, and between the nose and corners of the mouth. Now there are simple non-surgical techniques to relax our muscles and smooth out facial lines and wrinkles. These techniques are so versatile they can even be used to achieve slight eyebrow lifts and volumizing of the lips.
There are fat dissolving treatments for the appearance of an extra chin. Fat dissolving treatments are individually tailored treatments that permanently destroy fat cells under the chin. The active ingredient is an acid which has been well established to break down fat. The course of treatments involves 2 to 4 sessions approximately 4-6 weeks apart. Post treatment, the patient may experience bruising, swelling and tenderness.
Due to government regulations we are unable to name the products used for some cosmetic treatments.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
Who is a candidate?
Most people can benefit from cosmetic facial treatments. Some people have very few facial lines but still like to minimise the actions of frowning and squinting. By limiting these actions they will also slow down the further development of these lines. Other people who have developed facial lines over the years can have them erased in a matter of days with these simple non-surgical treatments.
The typical areas treated by cosmetic treatments include:
- Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Worry lines which run horizontally across the forehead
- Deep smile lines which run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth
- Smoker’s lines or lipstick bleed lines which run vertically around the mouth
- Marionette lines at the corners of the mouth
- Lip enhancement
In some people, facial lines or folds have developed over the years due to skin laxity. In these cases, facial surgery options may be more appropriate than cosmetic treatments.
What is involved in the treatment?
Cosmetic therapy is considered a walk in/walk out office procedure that takes between 30 and 60 minutes of your time. A consultation with our Nurse Aesthetician allows us to ascertain which areas you would like treated and the best product to use in your case. There are many products available, but essentially, the use of very fine needles are used and placed in the areas to be treated. A local anaesthetic is sometimes used to decrease the level of discomfort, before and during the procedure. Depending on the desired effect, initially treatment is usually maintained with periodic follow-up treatments.
What can you expect after the treatment?
With some forms of cosmetic injection therapy there are no immediate after effects. Occasionally, very slight redness or swelling can occur immediately after the treatment but this is short-lived and can be easily covered with make-up. In these cases our Nurse Aesthetician may apply the Jane Iredale Skin Care Makeup. Most of the products will give instant and dramatic results, others may be more effective within the following 3-10 days.
