ASPS members hold a specialist qualification from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), which is the only College for specialist surgical training accredited by both Australian and New Zealand Governments through the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and New Zealand Medical Council (NZMC), respectively. Dr Paul Cheng – Specialist Plastic Surgeon, MED:0002720769
Dr Cheng provides specialist services in the private sector at the Layt Clinic. He enjoys all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, including skin cancer surgery, aesthetic facial surgery, breast and body contouring surgery, burn and trauma reconstruction, microsurgery/hand surgery, etc. He is passionate about delivering the highest standard of care to his patients. Sarah Brodie – Registered Nurse, NMW: 0001996003
Sarah joined The Layt Clinic team in Southport in 2023. She has an extensive background in Perioperative nursing, where she worked for 18 years as a Registered Nurse, Anaesthetic Technician and Nurse Educator. She has recently completed her QLD Health laser training and is currently completing a graduate certificate in Dermatology nursing through the Australian College of Nursing. Sarah has a special interest in skin cancer management and prevention, so you will often find her assisting one of the Doctors with biopsies and lesion removals in the clinic procedure room.

Paige Lovell – Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, NMW: 0002595506
Paige is a caring and passionate nurse experienced with post-operative nursing care, research and trials that are conducted within the clinic, along with general organisation of the nursing department. Paige has a background in business and is also an equine therapist. She is studying Laser and is excited to develop more skills within the clinic. Paige loves spending time with her family and friends on weekends.

Melissa McAlister – Registered Nurse, NMW: 0002470132
Mel joined our Southport nursing team in 2024. She has worked in the Aesthetic industry for over a decade as a Laser and Beauty therapist. Her passion for the industry led her to study Coolsculpting in San Francisco and then she completed her qualifications as a Registered Nurse. Mel now focuses on Cosmetic Post Operative Care and consults and designs treatments for facial wrinkles and volume replacement. Mel also worked as a children’s critical care nurse for four years. Mel enjoys assisting our doctors in their minor op and in-room procedures at the clinic. Mel enjoys the outdoors, loves spending time with her two daughters and travelling.

Maddison Tsorbaris – Registered Nurse NMW: 0002105081
Prior to moving to Queensland, in 2017 Maddi completed her Diploma of Nursing in Victoria, before going on to finish her Bachelor of Nursing at Southern Cross University and becoming a Registered Nurse with AHPRA. Over the past five years, Maddi has worked in General Practice, where she focused on managing skin cancers and discovered her passion for skin and aesthetic nursing. Maddi completed her cosmetic injectables course in 2023 and her QLD Laser Safety Officer course in 2024, and she loves providing comprehensive skin treatments for her patients.

Collette Nicholls – Laser and Facial Treatments
Collette is experienced in Micropigmentation, Facial and Laser Treatments and has been in the industry for a number of years. She has trained in treating skin through a variety of technologies, including IPL, laser, dermal needling, medical-grade peels, Venus, Genius, Ultraformer, and much more. She is meticulous with brow sculpting using threading and tinting, as well as full-face makeup application. Collette is focused on results-driven outcomes by providing a wide variety of treatments to cater to the needs of her clients.

Gemma Kent – Laser & Dermal Aesthetician
Gemma is an experienced Dermal Aesthetician, having been in the industry for over 16 years. She has extensive training in analysing and treating skin through many advanced techniques, including laser, IPL, dermal needling, medical-grade peels, microdermabrasion, Hydrafacial, Venus Legacy RF, Genius RF Needling, LED light therapy, Epiblading and much more. Gemma is focused on results-driven outcomes by providing a wide variety of treatments and home care regimes to cater to the needs of her clients in a caring and relaxing environment.

Renee Baumann – Laser & Dermal Therapy, CoolSculpting®
Renee joined The Layt Clinic in 2019, bringing 15 years of experience with her, having worked in Medical Aesthetics and procedures including IPL Photo Rejuvenation, Radio Frequency Skin Tightening, Laser Hair Removal, LED Light Therapy, SkinPen®, and Chemical Peels. For the past five years, Renee has focused on CoolSculpting®, attending CoolSculpting® University in the United States, and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in both CoolSculpting® and Medical Aesthetics to The Layt Clinic. Renee is extremely dedicated to her patients and passionate about delivering real results.

Kate Posthuma – Ballina Reception and Administration
Kate joined The Layt Clinic as part of the reception and administration team and is based in our Ballina clinic. Kate has an extensive background in ophthalmology and is passionate about helping patients with their appointments and bookings. You will always find Kate at the front reception with a warm, welcoming smile.

Sheena Bridge – Administration
Sheena is one of our longest-serving staff members at The Layt Clinic, having been with us for over 17 years as one of our wonderful Receptionists. She brings a warmth and passion to the front-of-house at The Layt Clinic, and you will always find her manning the front desk with a big smile, ready to welcome our patients. Sheena will greet you in our Southport clinic and is an important member of The Layt Team.

Lori Pennie – Administration and Patient Coordinator
Lori joined the clinic in 2018 as a Receptionist, providing front-of-house services to our patients. When not on reception, greeting our patients with her friendly smile and infectious enthusiasm, you will find Lori assisting Dr Layt, Dr Cheng and Dr Trott as a Patient Coordinator. Lori helps guide patients through their surgical journey, providing concierge appointments where she presents information on our surgical procedures. Kim Northcott – Patient Coordinator
Kimberly (Kim) joined the team as a vibrant member of our administration and Patient Coordinator team. Kim guides patients through their surgical journey with Dr Layt, Dr Cheng and Dr Trott, by providing concierge appointments to present information on our surgical procedures. If you are in the first stages of your surgical journey, this is a great step in preparing you for your appointment with our surgeons. Kim brings a warmth and enthusiasm to The Layt Clinic and is passionate about helping our clients with all enquiries and appointments. Taylah Noonan – Patient Coordinator
Taylah joined the team as a passionate member of our Administration and Patient Coordinator team. She helps guide patients through their surgical journey with Dr Layt, Dr Cheng and Dr Trott, by providing concierge appointments to present information on our surgical procedures. If you are in the first stages of your surgical journey, this is a great step in preparing you for your appointment with our surgeons. Taylah is dedicated to helping our clients through their surgical journey and with all enquiries and appointments. She enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her puppy, Harper.

Myah Arms – Patient Coordinator
Myah has been a valued part of The Layt Clinic team since 2021, supporting patients through their surgical journey with both warmth and professionalism. She brings a creative eye and thoughtful attention to detail to her role, helping patients feel informed and cared for from their initial enquiry through to post-op recovery. Myah provides concierge-style appointments to walk patients through the surgical process and is always happy to answer questions or provide reassurance along the way. Outside the clinic, Myah can usually be found with a coffee in hand, a book in the other, and close to the cheeseboard.

Kristina Ciuffetelli – Administration and Patient Accounts
Kristina, also known as ‘KC’, joined the Layt Clinic in 2019 as an integral member of the administration team in our Southport office. She has an eye for detail and is highly involved in training and onboarding new staff members. You will often see Kristina in our front reception, greeting patients or working alongside our practice manager on patient accounts. Kristina is an extremely organised individual who has a passion for streamlining processes and implementing the clinic’s procedures and protocols. Kristina completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts, majoring in Dance, in 2012 and has been teaching students of all ages ever since.

Patty Veloso – Administration
Patty joined our team in 2022 with experience in administration and high-end customer service. She is passionate about providing the best customer service and is always willing and able to help her colleagues. When not manning the front desk or phones, you will see her supporting our Patient Coordinators. In her spare time, Patty loves to spend quality time with her family, friends and her dog Nucky.

Amira Shaw – Administration
Amira joined The Layt Clinic as a member of our administration team in 2024 with a passion for delivering high-end customer service. She is a vibrant member of the team, and you will often find her manning the front reception, ready to greet our patients at our Southport clinic. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing and in her spare time she loves spending time with her dogs Charli and Bronte, her family and her friends.

Sophie Adamson – Administration
Sophie brings a unique combination of clinical knowledge and creativity to The Layt Clinic and was an Enrolled Nurse for five years before joining the team. She has a strong foundation in patient care and a calm, capable presence at the front desk. Before nursing, Sophie pursued a career as a professional dancer, performing across Brisbane and the Gold Coast and competing nationally. A proud twin and a self-confessed lover of all things health and nutrition, Sophie brings energy and empathy to her team and the patients she supports.

Melissa Pike – Administration
Melissa has been part of the cosmetic and beauty industry since the age of 18, beginning her career as a dermal therapist for six years before transitioning into a role in clinic administration. With a strong background in client care and operational support, Melissa ensures our front‑of‑house runs smoothly and that every patient receives a welcoming and professional experience. When she’s not working, Melissa loves spending weekends at home with her partner and their ten‑year‑old Staffy, Lulu. She also enjoys exploring new restaurants for dinner and cocktails, always keeping an eye out for the next favourite spot.
Rebecca Simpson – Administration
Born and raised in Alice Springs, Rebecca moved to Queensland in her late teens and has built a career grounded in genuine care, strong communication, and exceptional customer service. She has always had a passion for skin and recently completed her Advanced Diploma in Cosmetic Dermal Science. Currently part of the administration team, she will soon begin assisting our dermal therapists and is looking forward to applying her training across skin treatments, body therapies, and laser services. Outside the clinic, Rebecca loves live music, time with her beautiful, blended family, and nights out with her friends.

June Jones – Practice Manager and Accounts
June is one of our longest serving employees at The Layt Clinic, having worked as Practice Manager for over 19 years. Commencing her career in the medical industry in 1989, June worked for different General Practitioners and Plastic Surgeons, before joining The Layt Clinic in 2006. June is very passionate in her service to the clinic and works around the clock to ensure The Layt Clinic is providing the best possible service and care to our patients. June loves her dogs, her family and enjoys the gym and learning new activities, the latest being making resin homewares.

Tina Layt – Business Manager
Originally trained as a Radiographer at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, Tina furthered her career with a postgraduate degree in Medical Ultrasound. Her love for education and numbers led her to lecturing at QUT in Brisbane in Radiography and completing a Degree in Mathematics. During this time, Tina also travelled with Rotary to the Solomon Islands to teach Ultrasound, along with a corresponding Interplast visit.
With the relocation of her husband, Craig Layt, to Melbourne in 1998, Tina secured the role of Chief Sonographer at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. This was followed in 2000 with a relocation to the Gold Coast and taking on the role of Practice Manager, and now Business Manager for The Layt Clinic.
Over the past 20 years, the Practice has grown, with two locations and 22 staff. During this time, Tina has been involved with numerous ASAPS meetings and enjoys sharing and learning how to build a compliant, ethical and successful business. Tina is proud to have a high level of staff retention and strong relationships with both staff and patients. She lives by the belief that you can never stop learning, that there is always room for improvement in everything you do in life, and to learn new skills keeps you interested in being present and alive. Tina started studying for her pilot’s license and is also busy on weekends on their farm, looking after cattle and the land.
Visiting Practitioners

Dr Dan Perera – General Practitioner, MED: 0001390781
Dr Dan Perera is a General Practitioner at Ashmore Road Family Practice and has over 20 years of experience. In addition to his own General Practice, Dr Perera has served as a surgical assistant to our plastic surgeon, Dr Craig Layt, for many years. Dr Perera is a visiting practitioner at The Layt Clinic’s Southport office and consults on skin lesion evaluations, as well as monitoring and surveillance of skin cancer cases.

Dr James Trott – Specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, MED: 0001242505
Dr James Trott, originally from Adelaide, is an experienced specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He was a senior member of the Australian Cranio-Facial Unit and extensively experienced in Rhinoplasty. Dr Trott now resides on the Gold Coast and operates at both Pacific Private Hospital and Pindara Private Hospital. Dr Trott is a visiting consultant for skin lesions at The Layt Clinic. Jim has a gentle and caring nature and helps patients feel at ease with their skin cancer diagnosis and treatments.

Brooke Fransisco – Registered Nurse, NMW: 0001226128
Brooke Fransisco is a visiting Registered Nurse Cosmetic Injector with over two decades of experience. Brooke is known for her experienced and knowledgeable approach. Brooke has employed her extensive training, knowledge, and skills to train many of today’s professional injectors, and has been visiting The Layt Clinic since 2007, working at both of our Ballina and Southport locations. Brooke maintains up-to-date education in the field of aesthetic injectables.

Dr Mobin Master – Specialist Radiologist and Aesthetic Radiologist MED: 0001173336
Dr Mobin Master is a Specialist Radiologist and a member of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Radiologists since 2007. He has a subspecialty in diagnostic and interventional radiology and extensive experience in aesthetic imaging, which he has been practising since 2016. He has contributed to the field through research and publications, developing expertise in imaging and non-surgical facial injectables.
At The Layt Clinic, Dr Master offers aesthetic treatments, including ultrasound-guided temple and chin volume replacement. He also uses imaging to assess patients before volume replacement and provides volume replacement removal using image guidance when clinically appropriate.
Dr Master is actively involved in medical education and is a consultant at Gold Coast University Hospital, where he supervises procedural training and promotes best practices in imaging guidance.
