Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in a non-surgical therapy that involves utilising the body’s natural healing process to induce collagen production and hair regeneration. It works by taking some of your blood and harvesting the powerful growth factors that stimulate and increase blood supply to aging or damaged skin, tissue, and hair. These nutrients can be used to decrease fine lines and wrinkles, under-eye dark circles, uneven skin texture, acne scarring, surgical scars, stretch marks, and hair loss.

PRP works by taking a small collection of your blood, which is performed by our experienced aestheticians in our practice, which is then spun through a centrifuge to produce what is commonly know as ‘liquid gold’, your plasma cells and platelets.  The liquid gold is then injected using a special applicator into your face targeting specific areas that require treatment.  The treatment is completely safe with the major advantage being that you are treated with your own natural body product.

Most of our patients that have undergone PRP have advised they felt minimal discomfort during the treatment, with some reporting only minor discomfort with some of the particular areas treated.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

What makes The Layt Clinic’s PRP therapy different?

Our PRP device is a TGA and CE approved medical device and can be customised depending on the required treatment. Each patient is treated for their individual concerns by our highly trained and experienced staff. We spin our PRP fresh to ensure that maximum concentration of the nutrients is maintained. Our system is autologous (patient’s own blood) which alleviates the risk of allergic reaction or rejection of the product, making PRP treatment a safe option for patients with product sensitivities.

Common Treatment Areas:

In addition to the areas mentioned above, we can also tailor a global facial rejuvenation program using a combination of skin needling and micro-injection techniques.

Results should be noticeable within two to three weeks after your first treatment.  Often more than a single treatment is required, with packages available on enquiry. To schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss your treatment, please contact the Layt Clinic on (07) 5597 4100.
