Facial procedures involve a consultation and assessment with a Doctor and Registered Nurse. During this consultation with the patient they may recommend various cosmetic treatments, laser and other facial treatments, which can help address certain concerns. As we age we lose the natural fat deposits in the cheeks, lips and temples. We also create lines and creases within our skin from the continual muscle action of the facial muscles that produce our facial expressions. Certain treatments can help promote the fullness to lips, cheeks and temples. We can also use treatments to help decrease the ability for the muscle to continually form creases from our expressions. Treatments can also be used to dissolve fat deposits under the chin.
With cosmetic lip treatments, Our Nurse Aestheticians and Doctors can add volume to the lips and refine the lips’ contour.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
What you can expect from Lip & Facial Volumizing Treatments
Lip treatments are designed to help patients achieve a more contoured appearance to the lips. Procedures to augment the lips are typically performed using small needles to volumize the lip of facial area. These treatments offer a way to achieve fuller-looking lips or facial areas without the need for invasive surgery or lip implants. The treatment involves using small needles to insert a solution into the lips. The treated areas can be numbed with a local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort. Once you have the desired lip contour, the procedure is complete. Lip treatments usually takes about 30-60 minutes to complete, and most patients do not require recovery time after treatment.
Although there may be some mild bruising or swelling following the lip procedure, this is temporary and should settle quickly. Depending on which type of treatment used for lip volumizing, the results may last from 9 to 12 months and even longer in some cases. Plus, many individuals can keep the effects going with follow-up treatments.
Deeper lines may be filled with a similar product to smooth out the line. These treatments can also be used to plump cheeks, contour temporal regions, jaws and other facial structures.
Our Nurse Aesthetician and doctors will be happy to meet with you in an initial consultation to discuss lip treatment and the options that may be best for your unique needs. Please contact our practice for more information, or to schedule an appointment.
