What You Should Know Before Breast Augmentation Surgery
In our previous post, “What to Expect: A Breast Augmentation Consultation with Dr Layt,” we explained how a typical consultation with Dr Layt proceeds for patients considering breast enlargement. In this follow-up post, we conclude the blog series with information about how individuals move forward with their decision to have a breast augmentation procedure with Dr Craig Layt.
When meeting with Dr Layt, he can help you to find the right breast implant shape, style, and size by talking you through the differences of each type. However, sometimes it helps to have a visual aid to help you better understand your breast augmentation options. Dr Layt can review before-and-after photos of other patients to help you get a better idea of what your results could look like, but each patient is different, so we do our best to help you get a more personalised prediction. Our office utilises the Vectra 3D® imaging system. This technology allows us to show you more precisely what your results may look like after surgery. Another way we can help you to finalise your decision is to use a specialised bra that allows you to try on various implant sizes so that you can visualise how you may look after your surgery. After you have reviewed your options, the Patient Co-ordinator will discuss important information about what to do before and after surgery.
Once you have had time to think about everything, you can choose to return to confirm the details of the procedure, ask any additional questions you might have, and meet with the Patient Co-ordinator to finalise your paperwork. We will continue to make ourselves available to you prior to your surgery, and we encourage you to contact us or schedule another appointment with Dr Craig Layt if you have any other questions or concerns before you return for surgery.
After surgery, you will return for dressings and reviews. During this time, we will instruct you on proper aftercare, including exercises to decrease any pain or muscle spasms you might encounter. Dr Layt recommends that patients return for a post-surgical review at three months, one year, and every five years after their breast enlargement surgery.
